July 01, 2009 - (Free Research) IT at Intel decided to execute an accelerated server refresh strategy, replacing aging servers in 2009 with new servers based on Intel® Xeon® processor 5500 series. They were able to achieve a consolidation ratio ranging from 7:1 to 13:1 depending on workload and other factors, while substantially reducing energy consumption.
